Juvenile animals that are too young to be spayed/neutered require a $100 deposit. You can reclaim your deposit after your pet has been spayed/neutered by bringing in the applicable form signed by the veterinarian who performed the surgery (you'll be given the paperwork for this when you adopt.)

Adoption requirements

Adoptions are available from 12:00am - 5:30, seven days a week. Please allow up to one hour to complete the adoption process.

You will be required to fill out an adoption questionnaire and will need to provide two references and photo ID.

We recommend that you and your family members come in and spend some time with the animals prior to adoption. This will help ensure that the pet you choose is compatible with you.

Gifts

If you would like to give a pet as a gift to a friend or family member, please bring them down to the shelter to meet the animals.  A pet is a long term emotional and financial commitment, and it is important that they are prepared to  bring a pet into their lives.  If they are ready for a furry companion they will be able to select a dog or cat that will best suit their lifestyle, ensuring a long and fulfilling bond.

You should also consider Adoption Gift Certificates. This is a great way to give the gift of a pet while ensuring the pet is welcome and wanted at the time of adoption. Animals as gifts can sometimes prove unwelcome surprises, so the best idea is to present a Gift Certificate to a prospective pet owner so they can choose a pet they like and one that will fit their lifestyle.
