Foster Parents Program
If you have space in your home for a special needs animal but aren't able to adopt, the foster parents plan may be for you. This is a wonderful volunteer opportunity in your own home. By fostering an animal that is not ready to be adopted or that may not be adjusting well to life in the shelter, you provide them with a chance to prepare for their forever home.
As a foster parent you provide a space in your home and care. The Humane Society provides the rest - food, supplies and veterinary care.
Animals that may require foster care include:
- mothers and babies (cats and dogs)
- orphaned kittens
- cats and dogs with minor injuries
- dogs that don't 'show' well in a shelter atmosphere
- cats and dogs that just need a break from shelter life
If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please contact the Humane Society at 475-8803 for more information.
